Since 1994 Conrad Hennig has been guiding all over Africa and one animal has eluded him for this amount of time – 23 years! Well, until last month! Conrad finally found a Pangolin! This was at the great Sangha Lodge in the Dzanga Sangha National Park, In the super-remote Central African Republic. It was a momentous occasion. On top of this, the Pangolin seen is possibly the least-known of all Pangolin species. What a moment! As our travelers will possibly know, the bane of Conrad’s guiding life made him chose the Pangolin as part of the logo of Starry Starry Nights. Sangha Lodge is a “refuge” for forest-dwelling Pangolins and the owners actually employ over 15 people looking after pangolins in the Congolese forest.
